There is a group of hardworking volunteers in Jacksonville who are sending care packages to our brave service personnel over in the “sand.” If you’d like to join their cause and offer some much-needed support we’d think you rocked. We can’t thank our troops enough for doing what they do to keep our country great.
The Lone Star Military Resource Group is collecting non-perishable items for care packages to send to a military unit serving in the Middle East. Suggested items include board games, video games, DVDs, socks, foot powder, body wash, Vicks VapoRub and lip balm; also lens cleaning cloths and small bottles of lens cleaner, sunscreen and baby wipes.
Suggested food items include flavoring packets for water, beef jerky, sunflower seeds, barbeque sauce and hot sauce in disposable packets, hard candies, individual crackers and cheese packets.
Please bring the items to the LSMRG office, 804 S Main Street in Jacksonville on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10 am and 1 pm.
While you are there you can sign a card letting the military unit know you care about them.
